Belt it out

Sometimes, upon viewing photos, I well up with an uncontrollable cry. I am so moved by the image I even squeak. I am eager to learn how to channel that emotional response into critical review.

For example with this picture by Roy DeCarava, like many other of his portraits of women, his attention to details of the face is so loving, caring... my mind is carried to the dark room, I envision his dodging and burning as intimate caresses. Oh! so lovely.
