Test stills for Autonomy

Attempting to use choreographed poi movements as tracking paths for abstract animation sequences for my new film Autonomy.  I'm trying to imagine how I may economize my painting :-/ they don't really teach us that part.  These are done in Photoshop, which I imagine 1500 frames later will lack wabi sabi. I'd prefer to paint on cells, but the idea of painting 1500 cells scares me.
